280414 - Off to Hobart then MONA

As Jeff and Anna obviously loved my company (ha), I decided to check out of the hotel and drive to Hobart with them in convoy.  We had a few stops along the way.

Creepy Crawly Nature Trail.  This should have been the duck and weave walk due to the low branches you have to crawl under along the path. No critters to be seen other than tree trunks and vines creeping all over the place...

Duck and Weave Jeff
Next down to New Norfolk for a great pub lunch. 30mins or so from Hobart.

Last we met at MONA. (Museum of Old & New Art) located in Hobart.
What can I say. CNN Travel suggests "its the worlds most far out museum housing one of the  most controversial and confronting collections in the art world"
So I don't spoil things for those yet to visit, I am only posting a couple of external pictures.

One of my favourites is the machine where food goes in one end, and comes out on the plate as? you guessed it. The installation also has its own odour.....

Along with works of an unusual nature, there are also much more of varying mediums.

Definitely worth a visit when your in town. www.mona.net.au

MONA Vinyard

What a cool performance space with beanbags..
This lovely bird is a resident of the grounds.

The Founder of MONA was a mathematician and art collector who made millions from algorithms by beating the casinos and bookies at their own game. He has established this wonderful venue for the world to enjoy. I would suggest its better appreciated by adults.
