Well today was a surprise. Paul from Melbourne insisted I go to Ben Lomand to see Jacobs Ladder and the National park/ Mountain. I wasn't really up for a big walk but set off anyway expecting another national park. The drive commenced through wonderful countryside (as is common here )
I got to the bottom of the mountain. The drive up was through a forest and it was windy as with small branches blowing down. I stopped at a lookout and in massive winds took a photo.
It was there i met another 4WD guy who was going up the mountain with his family. As he said it was snowing up top I chose to follow him up the mountain

Once down the temperature rose back up to 13 degrees as i was back down to 400 mtrs above sea level

Next off to Launceston Cateract Gorge. Suspension bridges and the worlds longest single span chair lift. I did the 6km return walk to the old power station.

Next on to the remains of the works first Hydro electric station.
I met Scott who is training for the Kokoda Trail next week, so he did the walk with 20kg on his back. Note the dog on the right. He did make it across.
The funny thing was is that his dog was as scared of walking across the suspense bridge as I am.
